PETALING JAYA, FEB 10 - Paramount Corporation Bhd announced its financial performance for FY2016, recording a 11% increase in Profit Before Tax (PBT) despite market challenges.
Group PBT increased from RM101.7 million in FY2015 to RM112.5 million in FY2016, with higher PBT contribution from Paramount’s education division. Group revenue for FY2016 was marginally lower, by 1%, at RM573.1 million compared with the previous year (FY2015: RM576.0 million), with the property division recording marginally lower revenue that was offset by a higher contribution from the education division.
SEPANG, FEB 8 - AirAsia X launches its new route from Kuala Lumpur to Honolulu, Hawaii via Osaka, Japan which will be operating four times a week starting from the 28th of June 2017.
To celebrate the launch, AirAsia X will be offering fares from as low as RM499* from 11 to 26 February 2017 for travel from 28 June 2017 to 6 February 2018.
KUALA LUMPUR, FEB 7 – Malaysia’s economy is expected to grow 4.2% this year in exports supported by recovering commodity price, demand recovery in electronics and crude oil prices.
OCBC Bank Economist, Wellian Wiranto notes that in Malaysia, recovering commodity prices have been offering the economy some support. It also occurs at a time when domestic consumption has stayed encouragingly robust due to helpful employment and wage trajectories.
