Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) saw its net profit jumped for its financial year ended December 31, 2017 by 91 per cent at RM45.5 billion, compared to RM23.8 billion recorded in 2016.
The increase was achieved on the back of higher revenue, lower net impairment on assets and well costs and continuous efforts to optimise costs in 2017.
Scomi Group Bhd posted a revenue of RM184.1 million for the quarter ended 30 December 2017 (Q3 FY2018). This represents an increase of 4.6 % compared to the preceding quarter’s number of RM176.0 million. Its Oilfields and Marine divisions both recorded improved revenue from the previous quarter.
The Oilfields unit recorded a revenue of RM139.0 million due to increased drilling activities in Russia and Malaysia against RM124.5 million in the previous quarter.
CIMB Group Holdings Bhd reported a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of RM6.11 billion for financial year 2017.
On a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) basis, the Group’s FY17 operating income expanded 9.7%, translating to a 14.6% Y-o-Y improvement in Pre-Provision Operating Profit (PPOP) and a 25.6% Y-o-Y growth in Net Profit to RM4.48 billion. The FY17 net Earnings Per Share (EPS) stood at 49.6 sen with a net Return On Average Equity (“ROE”) of 9.6%.
