Kuala Lumpur, March 24 – Malaysia Airports announced yesterday it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cainiao Network to explore the potential for developing a regional e-commerce and logistics hub in KLIA Aeropolis.
This signing was conducted in conjunction with the launch of the world’s first digital free trade zone (DFTZ) outside of China by YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Langkawi, March 24 – The award of a contract by the Government of Malaysia (GoM) to Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BNS), an associate company of Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad (BHIC), to build four units of Littoral Mission Ships (LMS) for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) is a ‘vote of confidence’ in the company as the premier defence contractor in Malaysia.
This was stated by BNS Chairman, Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin, who is also Chairman of BHIC.
Kuala Lumpur, March 24 – Malaysia has launched the the world’s first Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ). Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, together with Jack Ma, founder and Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group, officiated DFTZ launching two days ago.
DFTZ will provide physical and virtual zones to facilitate SMEs to capitalise on the convergence of exponential growth of the internet economy and cross-border eCommerce activities. It will act as a microcosm to support internet companies to trade goods, provide services, innovate and co-create solutions.
