These days, more and more households across the world are raising pets. According to global market research firm Euromonitor’s 2021 Pet Care Outlook, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the global pet care market has grown to 8.1% – an increase of roughly 50% on the 2014-2019 figures. With more households welcoming pets in, shouldn’t there be a way for owners to keep an eye on their pets when they’re not at home?
To help alleviate pet owners’ concerns, Samsung Electronics has included a ‘Pet care’ feature in its Jet Bot AI+ robot vacuum. By using the SmartThings app, users can record a video of their pets while alone at home and remotely take care of their animals by syncing with their pet products from PETKIT. KUALA LUMPUR (March 3, 2022): An ambitious purpose on innovation, a synergised ecosystem and a ‘bridge’ between research and commercialisation - these are among the elements needed for Malaysia to pull ahead in the region and achieve its ambition to be among the Top 20 most innovative nations by 2030 in the Global Innovation Index. Malaysia is currently ranked 36, and correspondingly, GDP growth is currently significantly lower than its potential output level with a gap of 49 percent.
According to the Malaysia Knowledge Economy Study, every 1 per cent increase in innovation capacity increases a country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita by 0.36 per cent. For Malaysia, an increase in innovation production could translate to USD 1.21 billion (RM5.06 billion) additional to our GDP of USD336 billion, even as the 12th Malaysia Plan has outlined innovation as a key enabler in economic growth.

The global cybersecurity company reveals the latest trend of web threats in Malaysia over the past five years. The data gathered from 2017 till 2021 presented an exponential growth in web. From just over 16 million detections, it is up at more than 61 million last year or a whopping three-digit climb (267%).
Based on Kaspersky’s data, there was a dip in terms of web threats detections in 2019, before climbing to 33% in 2020 and another additional 26% in 2021.
