SUBANG JAYA (28 August 2023) – Mister Potato, Malaysia’s number one potato chip brand, has teamed up with the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) to bring the fun and excitement of the award-winning game to its consumers.
Created by international video game company MOONTON Games, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is the world’s most popular mobile Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game which brings communities together through teamwork and strategy. MLBB’s strong presence in Southeast Asia over the years has led to the emergence and growth of five Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional Leagues (MPL) running in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia. This new partnership – Mister Potato x MPL MY S12 – is part of Mister Potato’s ongoing collaboration with celebrities and well-known brands from around the globe. This latest campaign introduces the “Alami Rasa Legendary” theme and will run from 14 August to 30 October 2023. Three MLBB characters – Beatrix the Marksman, Lancelot the Assassin and Martis the Fighter – and their skins will be featured on the packaging of Mister Potato’s products, including two limited-edition flavours. The limited-edition products are Mister Potato Syok Wave Hot Chilli Squid and Mister Potato Sour Cream Onion.
Mister Potato Syok Wave Hot Chilli Squid features a new flavour for the brand’s crinkle cut chips – a savoury squid flavour which balances the sweet with the spicy- while Mister Potato Sour Cream Onion introduces the traditional blend of sour cream and fragrant onion to the chips range.
The MPL Malaysia Season 12 tournament is set to run every Friday to Sunday, during the period of 18 August to 8 October 2023. It will be held at Dewan Sri Putra, Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur. Visitors who drop by the Mister Potato booth at the event will be able to win MLBB skins and Diamonds (which are the game currency) and limited-edition Mister Potato x MPL MY S12 merchandise such as t-shirts, sports water bottles, pop sockets and bags with purchase of Mister Potato products.

Mister Potato made its debut in 1992 when it introduced Malaysians to their now-favourite muchacho in a sombrero with delicious potato snacks made from quality ingredients. The brand later added a splash of colour to its range in 2017 with the new Purple Sweet Potato Crisps that brought consumers the same crispy savoury goodness but laced with natural sweetness and without any artificial colouring.
