Epson continues to gain market traction and achieve leadership position in its ink tank printers and projectors segments in Malaysia, driven by the company’s focus on developing its core technologies in four key pillars of innovation – inkjet, visual communications, wearables and robotics – to drive growth.
Epson Malaysia recorded consistent growth over the recent years with FY2017 following suit with a double digit 18% growth over FY2016, which saw the printer division contributing 57%, and 31% from visual products. Big market winners for the company this year with strong growth include entry level ink tank system printers, projectors and professional printers.
The Finance Ministry announced that starting from June 1, 2018, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be zero-rated for all goods and services in Malaysia until further notice.
In a statement today, the ministry said the move does not include the goods and services listed in the Goods and Services Tax (Exempt Supply) Order 2014, which will remain exempted from GST.
The National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) unveiled its inaugural SEA Dragon Venture Platform recently,aimed at connecting scale up companies in Malaysia and across the South East Asia region with global venture capitalists, corporate investors and high net-worth individuals.
PIKOM Chairman Ganesh Kumar Bangah said that the association’s latest industry initiative stems from the fact that lack of funding and lack of public exposure are some of the biggest hurdles faced by companies in the scaleup stage.
