awards\u00a0 e-Payments products and services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) organised the annual Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, hat recognises the outstanding achievements of banks, businesses and government agencies that have contributed significantly towards excellence, innovation and growth in e-Payments.<\/p>\n<p>Awards were given for banks, businesses and government agencies based on their achievements in six key e-Payment products and services.<\/p>\n<p>The services include Interbank GIRO (IBG)-funds transfer service that allows bulk account-to-account credit transfers between 42 participating banks in Malaysia, FPX \u2013 Internet payment gateway, which facilitates Internet payments and e-commerce purchases using savings and current accounts, as well as line of credit accounts and Direct Debit \u2013 allows billers and merchants to debit a consumer&#8217;s bank accounts on a periodic basis to collect recurring payments.<\/p>\n<p>Other than that are JomPAY \u2013 Malaysia&#8217;s national bill payment scheme where customers can pay any registered biller from Internet or Mobile banking by drawing funds from Current, Savings or Credit Card accounts where billers need only sign up with one bank to collect payments via 42 banks, MyDebit \u2013 Malaysia&#8217;s domestic debit card scheme, which allows point-of-sale payments using debit cards issued by banks in Malaysia and also Instant Transfer (IBFT) \u2013 Funds transfer service that allows immediate account-to-account credit transfers on a 24\/7 basis.<\/p>\n<p>The event saw the emergence of many deserving award winners whose achievements, innovation and commitment to excellence have again raised the bar on ePayment services, elevated customer experience, and pushed the boundaries of innovation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe annual Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards will continue to inspire and motivate banks, businesses and Government agencies to strive for excellence and I trust that this spirit of continuous improvement and innovation in pursuit of excellence will endure in the years to come\u201d said Peter Schiesser, group chief executive officer of PayNet.<\/p>\n<p>The award winners were IPay88 for the \u2018Top FPX Acquirer\u2019, Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP), Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDN) and\u00a0 Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial Malaysia (Perkeso) won the \u2018Top FPX Merchant (Government sector)\u2019, while for the award for \u2018Top FPX Merchant (Corporate sector)\u2019 was awarded to Shopee Malaysia, Lazada and 11 Street.<\/p>\n<p>Other awards include the \u2018Top DirectDebit Merchant\u2019 which was awarded to Public Mutual, Coway Malaysia and Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP), while CardPay achieved the \u2018MyDebit Top Acquirer\u2019 award and Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia, Berjaya Starbucks Coffee as well as 99 Speed Mart were awarded the \u2018Top MyDebit Merchant\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the awards were the \u2018Outstanding JomPAY Biller\u2019 award that went to Telekom Malaysia, \u2018Outstanding Contribution to DirectDebit\u2019 award given to Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) and also the \u2018Outstanding Contribution to MyDebit\u2019 that Public Bank, AmBank (M) Berhad, Hong Leong Bank and Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Berhad all managed to sweep up, AmBank (M) Berhad also managed to get the \u2018Outstanding Contribution to JomPAY\u2019 award.<\/p>\n<p>Other awards include the \u2018JomPAY Top Acquirer\u2019 that RHB Bank and Affin Bank managed to bring home, RHB Bank also managed to bring back the \u2018Top FPX Acquirer\u2019 award as well as the \u2018Best Customer Experience (DirectDebit)\u2019 award and Public Bank on the other hand was awarded the \u2018Outstanding Contribution to FPX\u2019, \u2018MyDebit\u00a0 Top Acquirer\u2019, \u2018Best MyDebit Bank\u2019 and \u2018Best IBG Bank\u2019 award, while OCBC Bank brought home the \u2018Top DirectDebit Acquirer\u2019 award.<\/p>\n<p>Maybank however snagged not only the \u2018Best Customer Experience (FPX)\u2019 award, but also \u2018Instant Transfer Innovation\u2019, \u2018Best FPX Bank\u2019, \u2018Best Instant Transfer Bank\u2019 and \u2018Best e-Payments Bank\u2019 and finally Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad managed to snag the \u2018Best DirectDebit Bank\u2019 and CIMB Bank brought home the \u2018Best JomPAY Bank\u2019 award.<\/p>\n<p>The guests include the governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, Tan Seri Muhammad Bin Ibrahim and Donald Joshua Jaganathan assistant governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, the chief executive officers of 32 banks in Malaysia, as well as senior leaders of government agencies, and
