Managing director of MAN Truck and Bus Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Hartmurt Mueller has stepped down ahead of the cessation of his contract in August this year, starting today.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the personal side, after five wonderful years in this country, my family is ready to return to Germany.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith MAN\u2019s world-class products and services, and our people\u2019s broad capabilities, MAN\u2019s customers here can rest assure they will continue to be in good hands,\u201d said Mueller.<\/p>\n
Among some of MAN Malaysia\u2019s customers are Mara Liner Sdn Bhd, Lee Ting San Group of Companies and Taipanco Sdn Bhd.<\/p>\n
Last year, the company also started the initiative of providing mobile service workshops to customers.<\/p>\n
Moving forward, Mueller is hopeful that the market share of European-made trucks in Malaysia will grow to 50 per cent in the next 10 years, from 25 to 30 per cent currently.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn 10 years, I believe the market will grow quickly because more fleet are looking into good transport management, where they will not talk about the price anymore but solutions.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs more customers reflect on their cost, thinking it is okay to buy trucks that\u00a0 cheaper trucks are better investment but providing cost efficiency on the operational side,\u00a0 they will then see that European brands provide the best solutions to that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
62-year old Mueller came on board MAN Malaysia in September 2013.<\/p>\n
Prior to that, he has held various positions in MAN including senior vice-president of sales management, senior vice president of international key accounts and chief executive officer for MAN France.<\/p>\n
During his time in MAN Malaysia, the company has made strong headway into both corporate and government sectors.<\/p>\n
Pending the appointment of a replacement and to ensure a smooth transition, Jerome Wong, General Manager of Sales and Marketing; and Thayalan Subramaniam, Head of Aftersales will assume acting leadership roles.<\/p>\n
Spencer Tan, managing director of importer center, MAN Truck & Bus Asia Pacific said Mueller has shown exceptional leadership during his five year tenure with MAN Malaysia.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnder his management, the company has seen robust and consistent growth in Malaysia and he has also help positioned the MAN brand prominently amidst a very competitive landscape.<\/p>\n
