The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre hosted its eleventh annual buka puasa gathering for 94 children from Living Hope and Yayasan Generasi Gemilang, as well as 32 National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Malaysia patients and their families to an evening of fun and festivities.<\/p>\n
All guests were treated to the Centre\u2019s \u2018A Nostalgic Ramadan Journey\u2019, a sumptuous buka puasa feast featuring a delectable spread of mouth-watering signature dishes and hometown favourites specially prepared by its award-winning Chefs.<\/p>\n
The event was kicked off with batik painting for \u201cHari Raya-themed\u2019 batik pieces by the young VIPs, lead by Batik Guild representatives, the Centre\u2019s team members and media friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is always a pleasure to host this event and something we look forward to every year.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s great to see so much joy and happiness filling our venue when the children are here enjoying the activities and buka puasa.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are proud to be hosting our 11th consecutive buka puasa gathering and believe our partnership with Living Hope, Yayasan Generasi Gemilang and NKF Malaysia will continue to flourish for many years to come,\u201d said the Centre\u2019s general manager, Alan Pryor.<\/p>\n
Thanking the Centre for hosting this annual treat, Founder and Chairman of Living Hope, Dr Peggy Wong, said \u201cThe Centre really outdo themselves every year, bringing joy and smiles to the children with their creative and fun activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is always wonderful to see an organisation like the Centre embracing the spirit of Ramadan and sharing the festive season with the underprivileged,\u201d<\/p>\n
She added the children love coming to the Centre\u2019s buka puasa treat, especially those who are breaking fast outside the home for the first time.<\/p>\n
Echoing Wong\u2019s comments, GG\u2019s Founder, Daniel Tan, shared, \u201cThe Centre\u2019s fun-filled activities and delicious feast is always one of the highlights for the children.<\/p>\n
\u201cMore importantly, they are given the opportunity to experience the “berbuka puasa” (breaking of fast) culture with muslim friends, instilling the value of respect and understanding from a young age.\u201d
The evening ended with Pryor and the senior management team handing out sweet treats courtesy of the Culinary team, and duit raya to the young VIPs from Living Hope and GG, as well as NKF patients and their families.<\/p>\n
