HSBC Malaysia in collaboration with TalentCorp launched an internship initiative, \u2018Career Comeback\u2019 programme to help female professionals resume their career post-sabbatical.<\/p>\n
This is in tandem with this year\u2019s International Women\u2019s Day (IWD) theme #PressforProgress and in support of the Malaysian Government, designating 2018 as the Year of Women Empowerment.<\/p>\n
\u2018Career Comeback\u2019 is aimed at professional women with at least eight years of work
experience, currently on a break from work to take care of their family or other personal reasons.<\/p>\n
The 12-week programme will provide a structured, full-time internship programme for the successful participants to help them pursue sustainable career paths within HSBC.<\/p>\n
The programme will also implement various career-growth activities for women, such as reskilling, upskilling and career counselling.<\/p>\n
It will be piloted in HSBC\u2019s Cyberjaya Global Service Centre, Malaysia and the first batch of ten participants will begin the internship in mid-June.<\/p>\n
\u201cHSBC views diversity and inclusion as a critical lever for business success in the long term.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt enables teams to unlock innovation, make better decisions and manage risk.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are committed to creating an inclusive environment that is free from bias and where everyone can realise their full potential,\u201d said Neeti Mahajan, centre director of HSBC Global Service Centre, Malaysia whilst speaking at the event.<\/p>\n
During the programme, each of the participants will be partnered with an experienced mentor, and will get to participate in various learning and training modules which will focus on leadership, product and technical knowledge, and confidence building.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an excellent way of bringing back some very vital and talented members of society back into the workforce, where they can realize their career ambitions while maintaining a work-life balance,\u201d said James Gossip, deputy chief executive officer of HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad, who was present at the launch.<\/p>\n
