{"id":1829,"date":"2026-01-20T17:43:34","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T17:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/wptest\/2026\/01\/20\/new-ministers-sworn-in-before-agong\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T23:35:59","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T23:35:59","slug":"new-ministers-sworn-in-before-agong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/portal\/2026\/01\/20\/new-ministers-sworn-in-before-agong\/","title":{"rendered":"New Ministers Sworn In Before Agong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Almost two months after winning the May 9 general election, the full Pakatan Harapan Cabinet has been sworn in before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V on Monday (July 2).<\/p>\n<p>Thirteen MPs were appointed to the Cabinet earlier, and the names of the full Cabinet members and their portfolios were kept under a tight lid.<br \/>Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said he aims to have no more than 30 members in the Cabinet.<br \/>A total of 13 ministers and 23 deputy ministers were sworn in at the ceremony at the Istana Negara here on Monday.<br \/>The ministers sworn in are:<br \/>1. Foreign Affairs Minister: Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah<br \/>2. Natural Resources and Environment Minister: Dr Xavier Jayakumar<br \/>3. Public Works Minister: Baru Bian<br \/>4. Youth and Sports Minister: Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman<br \/>5. Primary Industries Minister: Teresa Kok<br \/>6. Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs Minister: Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail<br \/>7. Energy, Green Technology, Science and Climate Change Minister: Yeo Bee Yin<br \/>8. Minister in the Prime Ministers Department (Religion): Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa<br \/>9. Minister in the Prime Ministers Department (Law) Datuk Liew Vui Keong<br \/>10. Federal Territories Minister: Khalid Samad<br \/>11.
