Taylor\u2019s Education Group (\u201cTaylor\u2019s\u201d) and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad (\u201cCIMB Islamic\u201d) awarded RM460, 000 grant to 107 small business owners who are also residents of five \u201cProjek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR)\u201d across the Klang Valley through \u201cProgram Keusahawanan Taylor\u2019s-CIMB Islamic\u201d<\/p>\n
This is the second year that the entrepreneurship programme is being held to empower B40 families in uplifting their earnings\u2019 ability through up-skilling and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
The programme initially received 120 participation in which they were trained on business management.<\/p>\n
Those who showed significant improvements in their businesses and operations were selected to present their business plan to a judging panel comprising representatives from Taylor\u2019s and CIMB Islamic Bank.<\/p>\n
The 107 winners were then chosen based on the soundness of their business plans.<\/p>\n
CIMB Islamic Bank chief executive officer, Mohamed Rafe Haneef said, \u201cCIMB Islamic is very pleased to partner with Taylor\u2019s Education Group to equip these business owners with the skills, know-how and guidance, so that they are empowered to take their businesses to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n
CIMB Islamic aims to create a long-term and sustainable economic impact by boosting the entrepreneurial skills of the business owner and build viable social impact by inspiring and giving courage to others to start their own businesses. <\/p>\n
This programme is also part of CIMB Islamic\u2019s corporate social responsibility that is very much aligned with Islam\u2019s basic principle of inclusivity in society, which is to ensure that all its members are enabled to prosper and benefit from the nation\u2019s economic progress.<\/p>\n
Taylor\u2019s and CIMB Islamic Bank is planning to collaborate in the second phase of the programme, scheduled to be rolled out in 2019.<\/p>\n
The second phase, known as \u201cProgram Keusahawanan 2.0\u201d will see the creation of \u201cProgram Keusahawanan Universiti\u201d, \u201cProgram Keusahawanan Marketplace\u201d, and \u201cProgram Keusahawanan Digital\u201d as a platform for the entrepreneurs to continuously learn and link to business opportunities.<\/p>\n
