Axiata\u2019s edotco Group Sdn Bhd has completed its acquisition of an 80% stake in Tanjung Digital Sdn Bhd for RM140 million, granting it to expand its presence in Kedah with a portfolio of 225 telecommunications towers.<\/p>\n
Edotco aims to improve the operational efficiency of tower infrastructure in Kedah, reinforcing its commitment of supporting fast and reliable coverage in the nation through this acquisition.<\/p>\n
\u201cConnectivity is a cornerstone of a state\u2019s economic and social progress. As such, it is crucial that we have the right infrastructure in place to ensure seamless and wider network reach.\u201d said edotco Group chief regional officer, Wan Zainal Adileen.<\/p>\n
He added by expanding edotco in Kedah, they will work with the entire ecosystem to ensure network providers are able to strengthen their service quality and network footprint across the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cCurrently, Kedah’s lower tower density in comparison to Malaysia’s average impacts the quality of network connectivity,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis acquisition will allow Kedah\u2019s telecommunication industry to benefit from edotco\u2019s regional expertise in end-to-end tower solution services.\u201d said Tanjung Digital Sdn Bhd director Mohd Azam bin Saad.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the acquisition, he also added that the infrastructure enhancements edotco is set to offer will help to spur rapid development and operational improvement of the state\u2019s telecoms infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Established in 2012, edotco is the first regional and integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company in Asia, providing end-to-end solutions in the tower services sector from tower leasing, co-locations, build-to-suit, energy, transmission and operations and maintenance.<\/p>\n
