Hitachi Sunway Information Systems Sdn Bhd will be aligning its entire business operations to the Internet of Things (IoT) trend that has hit Malaysian shores since last year.<\/p>\n
The action was taken since IoT has been identified to generate the biggest IT demands by Malaysian companies over the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n
Hitachi Sunway Group chief executive officer and director, Cheah Kok Hoong mentioned that the company has adopted a strategic business direction towards delivering IoT-related projects \u201cTraditionally we were a \u2018Service Integrator\u2019, but we are now morphing according to the IoT trends to become an IoT solutions aggregator, he said.<\/p>\n
The recent Hitachi Sunway CXO Round Table themed \u201cThe Internet of Things (IoT): Turning Vision into Reality\u201d saw five prominent Malaysian conglomerates discussed in detail the on-going and planned IoT projects spanning across local automobile, building materials, entertainment and hospitality, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, plantations and property development sectors.<\/p>\n
\u201cIoT means different things to different businesses. Therefore, the only way to be an effective IT partner is to listen on our clients\u2019 IoT plans, and then retrofit the best available technologies to achieve those IoT projects,\u201d added Cheah.<\/p>\n
Hitachi Sunway has identified a number of key guidelines to deliver IoT-ready solutions and services required by enterprise clients. This includes relying on ecosystem of IT partners, subject matter expertise, creative collaboration, reliable and good connectivity, focus on people and process and clearer IoT standards critical to avoid \u2018fragmentation frustration\u2019.<\/p>\n
According to Cheah, Hitachi Sunway plays the main role of bringing together the best technologies available in the market and customized hybrid solutions and systems for its clients that comes from various backgrounds.<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cIt is obvious that Malaysian CXOs are looking for IT partners that have a really
wide spectrum of skills. \u201cIoT overlaps a great deal of both OT (Operational Technology) and IT (Information Technology); so, we will leverage Hitachi\u2019s long and extensive experience in both these areas to deliver IoT solutions to our local enterprise customers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Additionally, Hitachi Malaysia will focus on bringing together an ecosystem of ICT solutions (from various technology vendors) and building subject-matter expertise to support Malaysian enterprise and SMEs\u2019 IoT journey.<\/p>\n
Hitachi Sunway will establish a form of multi-partnership IT platform and act as a \u2018consortium of IT expertise\u2019 to deliver the various IoT projects for Malaysian enterprises.<\/p>\n
