Petronas delivered its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo through its subsidiary to Japan\u2019s Hokkaido Electric Power Co Inc (Hokkaido Electric).<\/p>\n
This delivery marks the beginning of MLNG\u2019 s supply to Hokkaido Electric via a 10-year Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) signed on March 2, 2017.<\/p>\n
In a statement, it said that Hokkaido Electric will be utilising the cargo for the commissioning of its LNG tank at Ishikari Terminal.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Petronas said the cargo was delivered from Petronas LNG Complex in Bintulu, Sarawak to Ishikari by Puteri Delima Satu, the LNG vessel chartered by MLNG and operated by Petronas\u2019 subsidiary MISC Bhd.<\/p>\n
Petronas LNG Marketing and Trading vice president, Ahmad Adly Alias said Petronas is honoured to be one of Hokkaido Electric’s trusted main suppliers for the next 10 years.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am confident that this first delivery is a significant step towards nurturing a collaborative relationship for both PETRONAS and Hokkaido Electric moving forward,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n
Operated by MLNG, the Petronas LNG Complex in Bintulu, Sarawak is one of world\u2019s largest LNG complex. The nine-train facility has a combined annual production capacity of approximately 30 million tonnes.<\/p>\n
Established in 1951, Hokkaido Electric has been supplying electricity to the entire Hokkaido region and is the largest power utility in Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan.<\/p>\n
