Kuala Lumpur, March 8 – Girls in Tech (GIT), \u00a0a global non-profit focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of girls and women who are passionate about technology, is not just for professional women.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to the managing director of Girls in Tech Malaysia, Nadira Mohd Yusoff, apart from focusing on technology experts developing tech-based solutions, GIT also reached out to those entrepreneurs who infuse technology in their businesses.,\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe exist for anyone with an interest in technology, start-ups and providing women with a platform for growth. But we operate with the spirit of the girl within all of us \u2013 fearless, lively and determined,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Nadira revealed that GIT Malaysia has lined up a few major programmes this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are hoping to reach out to more people through strategic collaboration and partnerships such as with Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI),\u201d she explained. Nadira was speaking at GIT\u2019s Lou Sang Night carrying the theme \u201cTechnology Drives Prosperity\u201d held late last month.<\/p>\n
Minister of MOSTI Datuk Seri Panglima Wildfred Madius Tangau was the guest of honour at the event held at Microsoft Malaysia\u2019s office as partner and venue sponsor. The event brought together members, stakeholders and partners in a casual, fruitful and educational manner.<\/p>\n
Nadira said that GIT offers a variety of programmes throughout the year for women to enhance their businesses. One of the programme is the Hacking4Humanity (H4H), an initiative aims to bring various stakeholders to share ideas in Social innovation that incorporates the theme for this project. \u201cRealising the 1Million Impact Project\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince GIT is all about facilitating access \u2013 to the market, to experts, to funding, to peers, to mentors and to support systems \u2013 we have invited key players from the entire ecosystem for events like this. The event aims to bridge the gap between our women entrepreneurs with the support system they needed.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
