CIMB Group Holdings Berhad has been ranked top 100 most diverse and inclusive organizations globally by Thomson Reuters\u2019 Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Index 2018.<\/p>\n
The ranking is based on the media company\u2019s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data, designed to objectively measure the relative performance of more than 7,000 companies globally.<\/p>\n
Thomson Reuters D&I Index highlights companies leading the way in incorporating diversity and inclusion into their company strategy.<\/p>\n
The index provides an additional lens to investment professionals and investors alike to evaluate companies for their ESG strategies, which have a bearing on long-term opportunities and investment risks, as more and more investors value the societal and business benefits of investing in diverse and inclusive organisations.<\/p>\n

Over the years, CIMB has demonstrated great leadership in the banking industry and corporate world by transforming its people policies, as well as strengthening its ESG aspirations.<\/p>\n
It has placed employees\u2019 holistic growth and well-being at the heart of its innovative award-winning people development and management initiatives.<\/p>\n
This includes extended maternity leave; flexible work arrangements for parents to young children; 30-day paid paternity leave; and even up to 6 months\u2019 staff rejuvenation leave, with the staff\u2019s job and seniority assured.<\/p>\n
Currently CIMB has a 56 per cent ratio of women in its workforce, with close to 42 per cent representation at senior management level.<\/p>\n
The Group has also embarked on a comprehensive digital journey to future-proof its workforce for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.<\/p>\n
On its ESG policies, between 2007 and 2017, the Group\u2019s CSR arm, CIMB Foundation, have
funded over 1000 initiatives under its three pillars of sports, education and community development. For the period 2018 – 2020, the Group has also pledged 1 per cent of its profit before tax (PBT) to CSR efforts, ASEAN-wide.<\/p>\n
By propelling digital growth and innovation, the Group drives financial inclusivity through wider
reach and delivering more cost-efficient products and services to enhance customer experience.<\/p>\n
CIMB is also embedding sustainability into its next mid-term growth plan and recently announced its official membership of the United Nations\u2019 (UN) Environment Programme Finance Initiative Principles for Responsible Banking (UNEP-FI), making CIMB the only banking group in Malaysia and ASEAN to be a founding member of the sustainable initiative, together with 26 other leading banks from five continents and 19 countries,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
