Entrepreneurs are urged to constantly learn in order to achieve their goals.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Minister of Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof says learning is not an option for entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have to continue to learn.\u00a0 If you\u2019re not getting better, you\u2019re getting worse.\u00a0 If you\u2019re not improving, someone else is.\u00a0 Do what you have to do to become a continual learner,\u201d he stresses in speech at the opening of the Global Marketing Summit 2018 held in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.<\/p>\n
\u00a0His speech was read by the Secretary General Ministry of Entrepreneur Development Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The Ministry, he said, applauds the role and contribution of our entrepreneurs in bridging markets and drawing economies closer. This will strengthen and secure Malaysia\u2019s position and competitiveness in the global marketplace.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cIt is our aim as the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED) to provide a proper training for our entrepreneurs including driving the development of the B40s, M40s and social entrepreneurs.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cOur mission is to generate entrepreneurs with integrity and competitiveness in the global market. This is to encourage entrepreneurship in Malaysia Baharu particularly among the low-income groups across all segments of the society,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Looking back on the recent Belanjawan 2019, significant attention has been placed on promoting the growth on entrepreneurs and SMEs in Malaysia, specifically for B40s and M40s.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The Ministry will utilise the allocated budget to develop a focused and inclusive entrepreneur development program to be implemented in 2019. MED is pleased with the government’s intent to provide financial resources through various mechanisms for developing entrepreneurial ecosystems in the country.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The Global Marketing Summit is the Institut Keusahawanan Negara (INSKEN)\u2019s annual event. Held for the second year, INSKEN once again has successfully curated this world-class summit towards achieving their goals in creating game changers in the local entrepreneurship ecosystem.<\/p>\n
\u00a0GMS 2018 saw huge participation across various SMEs and entrepreneurs which also include participation from companies such as Siti Khadijah Apparels, Gading Kencana and Ramly Group.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The one day Summit entitled Making that Sale!, gathers world-class speakers and leading entrepreneurs for a knowledge sharing session that includes Rob Craven (Sales Advisor for Microsoft and Airbus) who spoke about \u2018The Secrets Behind Selling\u2019; Vinita Bali (Former Marketing Director for Coca-Cola & Cadbury) who shared her insights on \u2018Why Sales Matter\u2019; Ashraf Sinclair (Actor & Owner of TGI Fridays Indonesia) who shared his entrepreneurship journey \u2018From Acting to Investing\u2019 and Neelofa (Founder of Naelofar Hijab, 2017 Forbes 30 under 30 Asia) who shared about her success stories through a moderated session by Firdaus Azharuddin, Chief Executive Officer of INSKEN.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0The event was attended by 800 participants.<\/p>\n
\u00a0According to INSKEN CEO Firdaus Azharuddin, although INSKEN is a modest government agency, it was still able to organise such an impactful Summit like this to benefit local entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cOver the years, a myriad of entrepreneurship programmes and skill enhancements have been undertaken to nurture and groom individuals and companies to reach business perfection. As the leading agency for National Entrepreneurship Development under the purview of Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED), it is INSKEN\u2019s responsibility to address this problem.
