{"id":2438,"date":"2026-01-20T17:45:57","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T17:45:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/wptest\/2026\/01\/20\/mytv-distributes-1-5-million-free-decoder-sets-nationwide\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T18:00:36","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T18:00:36","slug":"mytv-distributes-1-5-million-free-decoder-sets-nationwide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/portal\/2026\/01\/20\/mytv-distributes-1-5-million-free-decoder-sets-nationwide\/","title":{"rendered":"MYTV Distributes 1.5 Million Free Decoder Sets Nationwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd (MYTV) will contribute a total of 1.5 million free decoder sets nationwide in phases beginning in January. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Starting with a verification process, selected recipients should have received or shall be receiving a notification letter to inform on the provision of free decoders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The selected recipients will then need to contact MYTV to verify on their eligibility to receive the free decoders. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recipients are chosen from the Bantuan Sara Hidup Rakyat (BSHR), with priority placed on the lowest income groups. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This announcement is a follow-up to the huge volume of enquiries that MYTV has received over the last week through its MYTV Customer Careline. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe apologise to the members of the public who have been eagerly contacting us through the MYTV Customer Careline but are unable to do so, as we are experiencing high traffic of calls. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe like to assure the public that we are attending to as many calls as we can and we have also increased our efforts to cope with the high demand. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe 7-day deadline to respond has also been extended to January 31 to allow the eligible recipients to get in touch with us,\u201d said MYTV chief executive officer, Michael Chan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIn light of the situation, we have also prepared other alternative channels for the public to get in touch with us at their convenience. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Free Decoder Sets are to be delivered to the addresses as per registered with BSHR through POS Malaysia,\u201d added Michael.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BSHR Free Decoder Sets will be distributed to the whole country in phases in partnership with POS Malaysia until the analogue signals are switched off which is scheduled by the end of March. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd (MYTV) will contribute a total of 1.5 million free decoder sets nationwide in phases beginning in January.
