OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad\u2019s customers with an iPhone X, including the recently-launched iPhone XS, XS Max and XR models, can now access their mobile banking app through facial biometrics thanks to the introduction of OCBC OneLook. <\/span><\/p>\n

OCBC OneLook enables customers to simply look at their iPhone X in order to view their account and card balances as well as their latest transactions. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to OCBC Bank\u2019s head of Consumer Financial Services, Lim Wyson the innovation is part of the Bank\u2019s broader digital banking journey and follows from the earlier OCBC OneTouch fingerprint authentication. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are ever on the lookout for new ways to deliver a simpler, more secure and superior banking experience to our customers. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBy leveraging on Apple\u2019s Face ID facial recognition technology we are enabling our customers to dispense with passwords or even fingerprints when doing their everyday banking on our Mobile Banking app. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey now only need to look, quite literally, at their iPhone X to get there,\u201d said Wyson.<\/span><\/p>\n

To access the feature, OCBC Mobile Banking customers need simply to tap on the OCBC OneLook icon on the app\u2019s login screen and look at their phone to gain access.<\/span><\/p>\n

To get started, customers must perform a one-time activation for OCBC OneLook on the mobile banking app of their iPhone X with Apple\u2019s Face ID running on the iOS12.1 operating system. <\/span><\/p>\n

As part of its digital banking journey, OCBC Bank was the first foreign bank to introduce access to balances in customers\u2019 bank accounts, cards and investments using their fingerprint, through OCBC OneTouch. <\/span><\/p>\n

The feature was first introduced to retail customers in 2016 and corporate customers began enjoying it last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bank had earlier also introduced OCBC Money Insights, a personal finance manager tool that enables customers to easily monitor expenses, set budgets and save towards their goals to help customers embrace financial planning in a cashless environment.<\/span><\/p>\n
