{"id":2492,"date":"2026-01-20T17:46:04","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T17:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/wptest\/2026\/01\/20\/mdv-releases-yearly-review\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T18:00:33","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T18:00:33","slug":"mdv-releases-yearly-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/portal\/2026\/01\/20\/mdv-releases-yearly-review\/","title":{"rendered":"MDV Releases Yearly Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Malaysia Debt Ventures Berhad (MDV) chairman, Datuk Seri Lee Kah Choon calls for a media conference at MDV\u2019s office to highlight the Company\u2019s historical progress and achievements, 2018 performance, contribution to Malaysia and action plans moving forward. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also present at the media conference was MDV chief executive officer, Nizam Mohamed Nadzri.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lee mentioned that in supporting the Nation\u2019s technology agenda, the growth of MDV\u2019s financing mandate strategically aligns to the Government\u2019s economic development plans to further develop the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Biotechnology, Emerging Technology and particularly Green Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a technology financier, MDV identifies that the development of an enabling financing ecosystem is a crucial aspect of this equation, particularly for technology-based entrepreneurs as the areas in which they operate are typically ones that traditional financial institutions are not ready to support due to a number of reasons such as lack of business assets and track record.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMDV will be growing in tandem with the Eleventh Malaysia Plan where the focus on Green Technology will shift how Malaysia perceives the role of natural resources and the environment in its socio-economic development. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMDV is currently financing 73 projects in the Green Tech Sector with 150 MW of renewable energy financed. MDV\u2019s financing exposure for Green Technology stands at RM810.7 million comprising RM519 million in Renewable Energy and RM134.8 million in Energy Efficiency,\u201d said Lee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cCurrently, MDV is the only dedicated Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) financier in Malaysia,\u201d Lee continued. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MDV is currently looking at a five year business strategy which are \u201cTransformation\u201d, to start up and create momentum; \u201cStrengthen\u201d, to enhance their platform and infrastructure, and \u201cRegionalisation\u201d, to geographically expand MDV\u2019s footprint. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The transformation programme is necessary to ensure MDV cultures to support technology startups and the sectors they represent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MDV has commenced the preparation of the Fourth Fund and exploration of alternate funding as well as the cultivation of the venture debt programme and expand it via its second tranche. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MDV\u2019s transformation will also see the initiation and development of regional and international relationships together with the ECF\/P2P participation.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malaysia Debt Ventures Berhad (MDV) chairman, Datuk Seri Lee Kah Choon calls for a media conference at MDV\u2019s office to highlight the Company\u2019s historical progress and achievements, 2018 performance, contribution to Malaysia and action plans moving forward.
