{"id":2526,"date":"2026-01-20T17:46:16","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T17:46:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/wptest\/2026\/01\/20\/ctbuh-malaysia-2019-speaks-on-the-public-realm-of-tall-buildings\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T18:00:32","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T18:00:32","slug":"ctbuh-malaysia-2019-speaks-on-the-public-realm-of-tall-buildings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/portal\/2026\/01\/20\/ctbuh-malaysia-2019-speaks-on-the-public-realm-of-tall-buildings\/","title":{"rendered":"CTBUH Malaysia 2019 Speaks on the Public Realm of Tall Buildings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) held a conference on the Public Realm of Tall Buildings at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The aim of the conference was to rebalance the focus and to celebrate the symbiotic relationship between a tower and the context surrounding its footprint, the theme for this year\u2019s CTBUH seminar in Kuala Lumpur shall be: The Public Realm of Tall Buildings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Invited speakers presented explorations on the relationship between the design and planning of high-rise structures with the life and energy of the city at its feet; public transportation, retail activity, pedestrian traffic, open plazas and parks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First to speak on the topic was Magnusson Klemencic Associates chairman and chief executive officer, Ron Klemencic. Klemencic touched on the \u201cStructural Gymnastics and the Public Realm\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speaking on \u201cUrban Transformation in a Malaysian Context\u201d, Turner International vice president and project director, Peter Ramstedt, presented future plans for Kuala Lumpur that will be launching in the next few years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event moved on to VERITAS Design Group vice president, Lillian Tay, who talked about achieving a greater imperative to develop the cities while maintaining a high quality life in the urban environment with \u201cReshaping the High-density Landscape in Kuala Lumpur\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event also talked about \u00a0\u201cSustainable Wind Impact Design at the Public Realm of a Tall Building Analysis\u201d \u00a0which was presented by CPP Wind Engineering and Air Quality Consultants founding director, Dr. Matt Glanville.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event closed with KONE Major Projects Business Unit head of Technology, Santeri Suoranta, who explored the topic of \u201cHiRise Tech &amp; 24\/7: Best PF Performance Over the Life Cycle\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) held a conference on the Public Realm of Tall Buildings at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.
