Q4 2018 marked the completion of a major network optimisation and expansion programme which has delivered superiority invideo experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celcom launched its network excellence campaign,\u2018Guna Celcom\u2122\u2019,on February 12 following the completion of Celcom\u2019s network optimisation exercise nationwide. <\/span><\/p>\n

Guna Celcom\u2122, a phrase that is easily remembered, is a campaign that speaks to Malaysians and creates awareness of the awesome data and video experience Celcom\u2019s network has to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celcom\u2019s \u2018Guna Celcom\u2122\u2019 is also backed by Celcom\u2019s achievement with 94 per cent out of 965 clusters nationwide delivering 4-star rating for HD video streaming on YouTube Video Checkup. <\/span><\/p>\n

As of February this year, Celcom\u2019s network investments have led to the deployment of over 9000 LTE sites nationwide, delivering more data on a larger network capacity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celcom\u2019s strong network now offers the best digital experience for video streaming, social networking, mobile gaming and Home wireless broadband.<\/span><\/p>\n

Guna Celcom\u2122 represents Celcom\u2019s nationwide LTE coverage while offering an affordable\u2018 fibre-in-the-air\u2019 service as an alternative to copper technology for home broadband. <\/span><\/p>\n

Celcom Home Wireless, a broadband service powered by Celcom\u2019s 4G network now offers homes the internet solution with data inclusions of more than 1 Terabyte of internet which is also available in Sabah and Sarawak, customers just need to plug and play to enjoy internet connectivity with average speeds of 30Mbps, from as low as RM80. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCelcom\u2019s focus to deliver the awesome digital experience for its customers resulted with positive performance growth and a continued delivery of the best value for customers. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a data-driven company,we have concluded that having the fastest download speeds alone does not deliver the best video experience. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere are other contributing factors for a superior video experience such as LTE availability, latency and packet loss,as well as overall consistency\u201d said Celcom Axiata Berhad chief executive officer, Idham Nawawi.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cVideo services make up 47 per cent of Celcom\u2019s total customer data usage, and in a saturated market, service and experience are becoming increasingly important. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we are delighted to be recognised by multiple external parties, for our delivery of superior video experience. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAn outcome of the improved experience is the increase of data usage by Celcom customers; Celcom recorded an 88.7 per cent increase of data traffic to 997.3mil GB and an average of 85.1 per cent increase in data usage per month to 12.4GB respectively,\u201d added Idham. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur network infrastructure has been optimised to deliver video experience of international quality and standards, and we invite all Malaysians to use Celcom\u2019s LTE network and enjoy wireless connectivity with our Celcom Home Wireless, which also includes a 30-day return policy,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celcom\u2019s focus on customer experience also led to a 1.1 per cent YoY increase in service revenue increased for FY18, amidst a competitive environment, driven by revenue growth in both postpaid and prepaid segments. <\/span><\/p>\n

Its focus on high-value customers contributed positively to business performance, with a RM5 increase in FY18 postpaid Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) to RM89, and a Prepaid ARPU increase by RM3 to RM35. <\/span><\/p>\n

In preparation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0)and the upcoming 5G era, Celcom has already begun exploring collaborations with device vendors, software and platform providers to deliver 5G solutions for industries across key verticals in Malaysia.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been working very closely with our network vendors, both Huawei and Ericsson, to develop and reveal the best 5G use-cases in Cyberjaya together with the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia (KKMM) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn Barcelona recently, we also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Microsoft Malaysia to re-imagine our work culture to better suit the digital needs for the upcoming 5G era.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2017, we conducted Southeast Asia\u2019s first 5G trial, on a 28Ghz band, achieving a peak throughout up to 18Gbps (Gigabits per second) and a latency as low as 5ms (millisecond),\u201d said Idham.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celcom\u2019s first 5G trial in 2017 also demonstrated futuristic 5G use cases such as robotic control, connected environment, virtual reality, Internet of Things (IoT) and 4K video streaming over 5G, from video capture at the server end to playback on the 5G prototype device. <\/span><\/p>\n

Celcom will be showcasing its 5G use-cases such as Holoportation, Connected Vehicles, VR Football Matching, 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FW) and connected drones during the industry 5G showcase in April. <\/span><\/p>\n
