{"id":2582,"date":"2026-01-20T17:46:23","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T17:46:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/wptest\/2026\/01\/20\/standard-chartered-saadiq-malaysia-appoints-new-ceo\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T17:55:25","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T17:55:25","slug":"standard-chartered-saadiq-malaysia-appoints-new-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/portal\/2026\/01\/20\/standard-chartered-saadiq-malaysia-appoints-new-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia appoints new CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia Berhad (Saadiq) has appointed Mohd Suhaimi Abdul Hamid as its Chief Executive Officer, effective March 16.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Suhaimi will drive the growth of Standard Chartered\u2019s Islamic banking business in Malaysia, supporting the Bank\u2019s refreshed priorities to further realise the value of the franchise, measured not only in monetary terms but also in the positive impact on our clients, stakeholders and communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Suhaimi was most recently the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Retail Business for Saadiq in Malaysia and brings nearly 20 years of experience in retail and corporate banking within the conventional as well as Islamic finance space.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prior to Standard Chartered, he has worked in various capacities with Maybank Islamic Bank,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OCBC, Alliance Islamic Bank, AmBank and MBf Finance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cIslamic banking remains an integral part of the business at Standard Chartered as we\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">continue to see growing demand from our clients in Malaysia. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSuhaimi\u2019s in-depth knowledge and Islamic banking experience will be invaluable in building our Saadiq propositions as the Bank positions for future growth,\u201d said Standard Chartered Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer, Abrar A.
