{"id":2637,"date":"2026-01-20T17:46:30","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T17:46:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/wptest\/2026\/01\/20\/deputy-minister-of-international-trade-and-industry-visits-huaweis-global-training\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T17:55:03","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T17:55:03","slug":"deputy-minister-of-international-trade-and-industry-visits-huaweis-global-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/portal\/2026\/01\/20\/deputy-minister-of-international-trade-and-industry-visits-huaweis-global-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry visits Huawei\u2019s Global Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dr Ong Kian Ming, visited Huawei\u2019s first global training centre based in Cyberjaya to understand the ICT leader\u2019s investment impact to Malaysia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Established in 2012, the centre is aimed at positioning Malaysia as a prominent training hub for ICT technologies and talent development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the visit, Dr Ong Kian Ming shared, \u201cMGTC, Huawei\u2019s first training centre outside of China, is a good example of Malaysia\u2019s close trade and investment ties with China.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHuawei has over 2,500 employees in Malaysia of which over two-thirds are Malaysians. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHuawei is further collaborating with over 300 local partners across the ICT ecosystem, deepening their operations in the Malaysian market.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The establishment of the centre and its implementation of programs for both undergraduates and professionals has generated multiple employment opportunities in the ICT sector, contributing towards the nation\u2019s vision of achieving a comprehensive Digital Malaysia status.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also offers training and other learning service solutions to customers, partners and employees from the company\u2019s carrier network and enterprise business group across the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHuawei has also shown great commitment in working with our local education institutions to train young Malaysians in areas such as 5G and cloud computing. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHuawei\u2019s deep investment in Malaysia since 2001 is a recognition of Malaysia&#8217;s talent pool for regional and global operations. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe look forward to more such partnerships as we strengthen our bilateral ties with China in the upcoming Belt &amp; Road Forum,\u201d said Dr Ong. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dr Ong Kian Ming, visited Huawei\u2019s first global training centre based in Cyberjaya to understand the ICT leader\u2019s investment impact to Malaysia.
