The 5G Malaysia Showcase which was ongoing for four days in Putrajaya, provided an opportunity for Malaysians to witness and experience for themselves the benefits of 5G technology and its impact to their lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

Communications and Multimedia Minister, Gobind Singh Deo said that visitors to the showcase will have the opportunity to witness various demonstrations, such as the usage of hologram to allow virtual presence, remote patient treatment and diagnosis, humanoid robotic motion control, autonomous car controlled using a combination of sensors and cameras, radar and Artificial Intelligence using 5G technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Gobind, other latest technologies, such as facial recognition, drone simulation, 3D printing, robotic basketball arena, Crowd Tracking System using Internet of Things (IoT), and many more will also be featured during the showcase.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur daily life in the future will be made more convenient and more efficient – enhanced and enabled by 5G connectivity. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFor instance, farmers will be able to detect soil moisture and acidity in real time to maximise their yield and efficiency and fishermen being able to maximize their yield by precision techniques.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt the same time, the police or firefighters can deliver a more efficient response through robotics that are empowered by 5G,\u201d said Gobind <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd these are just a few examples of what will be possible in future with 5G,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c5G will most certainly amplify our capacity to participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0). <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt will enable our industries to fully exploit the power of artificial intelligence, robotics, big data, virtual reality, and software engineering. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt will bring innovation which will substantially impact on almost every sector including education, transportation, agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, entertainment and public safety,\u201d Gobind explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

Concurrently, the Digital Outlook Series 2019 Forum featured distinguished panellists to discuss issues related to 5G such as \u201c5G: Evolution or Revolution?\u201d by 5G Malaysia Task Force advisor, Professor Dr. Tharek Abd Rahman; and discussions on 5G and the digitalisation of the various vertical industry by technology experts from Australia, South Korea, Japan and many more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chairman, Al-Ishsal Ishak said, the Commission is committed to ensure that connectivity will bring positive experience in the daily lives of Malaysians and at the same time, enhance the country\u2019s economic competitiveness.<\/span><\/p>\n

This, according to Al-Ishsal, is in line with the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP) that will provide the rakyat with robust, pervasive, high quality and affordable digital connectivity to propel the nation towards sustainable development.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 5G Malaysia Showcase was officiated by Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. <\/span><\/p>\n

Also present at the launch were Federal Territory Minister, Khalid Abdul Samad; Economic Affairs Minister, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali; Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister, Dr. Xavier Jayakumar; Chief Minister of Penang, Chow Kon Yeow; Chief Minister of Malacca, Adly Zahari; Port Dickson member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim; Putrajaya Corporation president, Datuk Dr. Aminuddin Hassim; foreign ambassadors, representatives from various telecommunication companies and industry players.<\/span><\/p>\n

Held at Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya, the 5G Malaysia Showcase opened to Ministries, government agencies and industries on April 19 and was open to the public on April 20 and 21<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
