{"id":2660,"date":"2026-01-20T17:46:33","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T17:46:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/wptest\/2026\/01\/20\/cimbs-future-of-work-centre-offers-4ir-prospects-for-its-employees\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T17:54:44","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T17:54:44","slug":"cimbs-future-of-work-centre-offers-4ir-prospects-for-its-employees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malaysian-business.com\/portal\/2026\/01\/20\/cimbs-future-of-work-centre-offers-4ir-prospects-for-its-employees\/","title":{"rendered":"CIMB\u2019s Future of Work Centre offers 4IR prospects for its employees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CIMB Group Holdings Berhad has launched its Future of Work Centre (FOWC), aimed at equipping its workforce with essential skills and opportunities to apply them directly, in preparation for a future that will see them work alongside technology such as AI, robotics and data analytics in a highly digitalised Environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FOWC is a platform that will facilitate the mobilisation of employees who have been upskilled or reskilled into their new roles in order for them to fully reap the benefits of their Training.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This follows an earlier announcement on Forward23, CIMB\u2019s five-year transformation plan\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which also includes the Group\u2019s RM2 billion investment in technology and data Infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CIMB Group Group Chief Executive Officer \u00a0Tengku Datuk Sri Zafrul Aziz said, \u201cCIMB\u2019s Forward23 goal to future-proof the Group requires a strong digital workforce and high\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">operational agility. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur people are key to achieving that goal. Future of Work Centre is part of CIMB\u2019s RM75-million investment to equip them with the skills to support CIMB\u2019s effort in reaping opportunities in a data-driven, tech-enabled world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBy 2023, our aim is to have at least 15 per cent of our workforce equipped with digital skills.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FOWC is part of the Group\u2019s cumulative efforts to digitally empower its people. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative started in May 2018 with training by the 3D (Data, Digital, Disruption) Academy. Modules offered under the academy are tailored to cater to various competencies, from zero\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">knowledge of the digital world to certification level, and offered in the region\u2019s local languages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To date, more than 15,000 employees across the region have benefited from these training.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leadership in the digital world requires skills such as empathy, collaboration and agility to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">successfully navigate new business models, and unconventional modes of employment. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To supplement the technical training offered by the 3D Academy, existing culture and high\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">potential employee leadership programmes at all levels have also been fine-tuned to align with future demands. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It now includes digital work experience within and outside the group, as well as networking opportunities with business leaders outside the banking industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employees who have undergone classroom training will be able to apply their new skills and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be mobilised into new roles through various programmes and initiatives under Forward23. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to existing mobility policies, employees will also have the opportunity to participate\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in \u2018internal internships. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These internal internships provide employees with a safe environment for them to \u201cexplore\u201d, practise their skills and gain confidence in their new roles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These will be project-based or temporary placements that may lead to different career options. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To supplement internal opportunities, CIMB\u2019s FOWC will also seek external placements that will\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">provide its employees with exposure beyond banking. As such, employees could have a\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">taste of, appreciate and consider different career options. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The intention is to encourage people to explore new opportunities and be more open when charting their career paths.
