Kuala Lumpur, 15 July 2019 \u2013 Zurich Malaysia has announced the appointment of\u00a0<\/span>Junior Cho as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zurich General Insurance\u00a0<\/span>Malaysia Berhad (ZGIMB) effective 15 July 2019. In this role, Junior will be responsible\u00a0<\/span>for driving Zurich\u2019s business strategies to achieve profitable growth for its general\u00a0<\/span>insurance business in Malaysia. He succeeds David Fike, who has assumed a regional\u00a0<\/span>role within Zurich Insurance Group; and will report to ZGIMB\u2019s Board of Directors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Junior is a seasoned industry leader with more than 25 years of experience in the\u00a0<\/span>insurance and financial services sector. He has held various strategic and senior\u00a0<\/span>management roles in business strategy, sales, marketing, distribution, customer\u00a0<\/span>management, operations and technology in multinationals such as Metlife International,\u00a0<\/span>Allianz Life and Cigna International. Prior to joining Zurich Malaysia, he was Group\u00a0<\/span>CEO of Tune Protect Group and was responsible for overseeing its general insurance\u00a0<\/span>businesses in Malaysia, Thailand and the Middle East.<\/span><\/p>\n

Junior joined ZGIMB in September 2016 as Senior Vice President and Head of Market\u00a0<\/span>Management. Over the last three (3) years, he has played a pivotal role in growing\u00a0<\/span>Zurich Malaysia\u2019s general business segment; leading the general insurance and general\u00a0<\/span>takaful sales through the development of strategic business propositions, strengthening\u00a0<\/span>of distribution channels and implementation of digital initiatives to better serve the\u00a0<\/span>needs of its agents and customers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Junior holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia\u00a0<\/span>University, New York. He started his career with global consulting firm, Accenture, in\u00a0<\/span>New York, before joining the insurance industry.<\/span><\/p>\n
