Kuala Lumpur, April 5 \u2013 In line with its \u201cI Love i.care for My Community\u201d programme, Kenny Rogers ROASTERS\u2019 (KRR) \u201cMuffins @ Schools\u201d programme continues to reach out to more schools in Malaysia in 2017 promoting a healthy diet and lifestyle.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Kicking off the programme this year, KRR team members set out to SJK (C) Jinjang Selatan, reaching out to more than 150 students bearing gifts in the form of goodie bags containing KRR\u2019s i.care Box and Kenny\u2019s Home-made Muffins.\u00a0<\/p>\n
What began as a modest initiative back in October 2015 as part of KRR\u2019s community outreach programme, has evolved into a full-fledged programme that sees the team from KRR visiting schools to conduct health workshops to promote a heightened awareness the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle. To date, more than 800 students have benefitted from the programme.<\/p>\n
As advocates of good health, KRR continues to visit schools with interactive sessions and activities to engage kids and promote a healthy lifestyle in their lives.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cToday\u2019s modern lifestyles, especially among children, leave very little time to stop and think about healthy eating and leading healthy lifestyles. We at KRR believe this is very important as children who pick up healthy habits early on in life tend to lead healthier lifestyles into adulthood, leading, thus reducing the risk of diseases which are so common today,\u201d said Ling Shiau Yunn, Guest Engagement Manager of Berjaya Roasters (M) Sdn. Bhd.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During the workshops, students are treated to a learning experience that also incorporates elements of fun. Besides getting these children engrossed in physical activity by doing light exercises, they are also taught how to differentiate one food category from another through a food pyramid. Participants also learn to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy food. The interactive nature of the workshops makes it easy and fun for students.\u00a0<\/p>\n
