Kuala Lumpur, May 22 \u2013 Carrier (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. (Carrier Malaysia) was selected to supply six AquaEdge 19XRE centrifugal chillers, two AquaEdge 19XR6 and 430 air handling units for Merdeka PNB118.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Upon completion in 2020, Merdeka PNB118 will become Malaysia\u2019s tallest tower. Carrier, a world leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).<\/p>\n
To meet the customer\u2019s demands for high refrigeration tonnage and environmentally sustainable products, Carrier will supply AquaEdge 19XR two-stage centrifugal chillers that use state-of-the-art two-stage compressors and heat transfer pipes with three-dimensional enhancement. The chillers can achieve a coefficient of performance of up to 6.5 under Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute operating conditions.<\/p>\n

Standing at 630 meters, Merdeka PNB118 in Kuala Lumpur will be Malaysia\u2019s new tallest building surpassing the current tallest – Petronas Twin Towers, the world\u2019s tallest twin towers. The tower will house Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB)\u2019s group of companies over 60 floors, with 23 rentable office floors and a 17-storey luxury hotel with 236 rooms, as well as multiple sky lobbies and an observation deck.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Additionally, the project is seeking triple Platinum certification under the U.S. Green Building Council\u2019s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design\u00ae (LEED) program, Green Building Index (GBI) and GreenRE program, as well as MSC Malaysia Cybercentre Status.<\/p>\n
