According to the newly released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mailgun.com\/email-impact-report\/chapter\/email-roi\/\">Sinch Mailgun Email Impact Report 2026<\/a>, organizations are leaving nearly a fifth of their potential ROI on the table due to poor deliverability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report, which analyzed over 400 billion emails and surveyed 1,200 global senders, reveals a stark reality: despite 78% of businesses calling email &#8220;critical to success,&#8221; nearly 18% of all emails fail to land in the recipient&#8217;s inbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>THE &#8220;LOST REVENUE&#8221; PARADOX<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For businesses measuring performance, the returns are staggering. 60% of companies report an ROI of at least 10:1, and more than one in ten see returns as high as 40:1. However, fewer than half of organizations can confidently measure this ROI, leading to a &#8220;measurement gap&#8221; where budgets are allocated without clear evidence of impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the competitive APAC landscape, this gap is especially costly. &#8220;Fixing deliverability is one of the fastest ways to unlock more value from existing spend,&#8221; notes Ginger Kidd, VP of Marketing at Sinch APAC. Marketers in cost-conscious markets like Australia simply cannot afford for 20% of their communication to vanish into spam filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><em>How do you measure email ROI?<br>If you\u2019re among the 57% of senders who aren\u2019t measuring email RO, or aren\u2019t sure how, here\u2019s the basic formula:<br><br>(Total revenue from email \u2013 Total cost of email) \/ Email costs] x 100 = Email ROI <br><br>So, let\u2019s say you\u2019re calculating ROI for a month in which you attribute $200,000 in revenue to the email channel. And you estimate your monthly email expenditures to be around $10,000.<br><br>That\u2019s an ROI of 1,900%, which means you made $19 for every $1 your organization spent on email that month. These results would put a sender near the middle of what our survey revealed.<\/em><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>BEYOND CONTENT: AI\u2019S UNTAPPED POTENTIAL<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The report identifies a massive disconnect in how teams use Artificial Intelligence.
