MIA membership has increased from 1,619 accountants in 1980 and now, to more than 33,000 accountants registered.<\/p>\n<p>Established on the 30th of September 1967, The MIA plans to kick-start the celebration with a series of events, programmes and activities for MIA members, stakeholders and the general public.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, MIA announces its its Golden Anniversary Celebration with the theme \u2018Integrity, Accountability and Trust\u2019 in mind.<\/p>\n<p>MIA president Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi says that the celebration is to be held over a few months as a means of appreciating the contributions made by the stakeholders as well as the MIA members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe celebration of \u2018Golden Jubilee\u2019 is also a time to reflect what the Institute has achieved and, what the future holds for the Institute and the accountancy profession as a whole,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kuala Lumpur, Feb 6 &#8211; The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) is turning 5o this year.
