KUALA LUMPUR, 29 JANUARY 2021 – KK Super Mart completes its contactless payment ecosystem with the latest addition of Shopee’s mobile wallet, ShopeePay. The introduction of ShopeePay is a catalyst for KK Super Mart to be the first convenience store chain to offer all prominent e-wallet payment services across its 512 outlets nationwide.
“It has been our founding mission to provide convenience to our customers, and that goes beyond growing the number of outlets across Malaysia but also encapsulating an entire shopping journey from picking a product to paying for it. We have been moving towards a cashless direction since 2017 seeing as more and more Malaysians are carrying less cash with them for safety reasons. As such, we are really excited to be offering ShopeePay as another cashless payment option when customers purchase their necessities including paying bills,” said Datuk Seri Dr K.K. Chai, founder of KK Super Mart and Executive Chairman of KK Group of Companies.
The usage for contactless payments - e-wallet, credit, debit and prepaid cards, have also become everyone’s preferred choice during the pandemic, adds K.K. Chai. This is further spurred by the Government’s initiative in 2020, e-Penjana, that incentivised users with e-wallet credit to help many who were facing financial difficulties.
To mark the partnership with ShopeePay, KK Super Mart customers will receive a RM3 cashback with a minimum spend of RM15 when they pay with the mobile wallet, limited to one transaction per user per day.
On top of that, in conjunction with its CNY Sale, KK Super Mart customers will receive RM4 cashback with a minimum spend of RM10. Each user can receive a maximum of three cashbacks throughout the campaign duration which ends on 25 March 2021.
“Providing rewards to KK Super Mart shoppers when they pay with ShopeePay will definitely help enhance sales at our outlets. Our partnership with ShopeePay will further strengthen brand image and improve brand recall among our customers, thereby giving us a competitive edge over our competitors,” said K.K. Chai.
Offering ShopeePay as part of its contactless payment ecosystem is one of many more milestones to come for KK Super Mart. The convenience store is aggressively expanding throughout Malaysia, with plans to open its 600th outlet by the end of 2021. It will also be introducing its loyalty App which will enable its users to enjoy daily rewards and get up to speed with its latest promotions.
