Kuala Lumpur, 17 October 2022: Despite a sharp increase in digital and technology adoption over the past two years, Malaysian businesses remain hesitant to digitalise their human resources (HR) functions due to the lack of technological knowledge and understanding, unclear digitalisation goals, organisation silos, and the cost involved in adopting digital solutions.
The Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM) understands the vast growth opportunities for businesses in embracing digitalisation such as attracting and retaining the right talents, creating jobs, and building resilience, and that digitally lagging businesses are unlikely to cope with the changing HR landscape.
As a means to facilitate digital understanding and stimulate wider technology adoption among businesses as well as professionals, MIHRM is hosting Malaysia’s first HR technology conference and exhibition HRiTECH 2022 from 22 – 23 November at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.
Themed “Empowering HR Through Disruptive Innovations”, the two-day event addresses the challenges and opportunities in digitalising HR while providing access to a wide array of technology solutions. It features more than 30 speakers comprising industry leaders, regional pioneers and technology experts to share insights and personal experiences on redefining HR across four (4) pillars – leadership, workplace culture, technology, and talent connectivity.
The event will attract over 500 attendees including HR practitioners, business owners, C-suites, senior managers, start-up founders, and entrepreneurs.
“HRiTECH 2022 provides a platform for attendees to gain new perspectives on digital transformation (DX) and emerging HR trends, explore exciting ideas, learn industry best practices and workplace strategies, experience first-hand the latest technologies, and connect with prominent HR leaders and like-minded individuals,” suggests Simon Benjamin, President of MIHRM.
He adds that while HR technologies have advanced in leaps and bounds, local SMEs are often overwhelmed by the breadth and depth of available solutions insofar as hindering their DX journey.
In that respect, MIHRM also partners with the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to showcase a variety of homegrown HR-related technology and solutions providers at the event. Attendees stand to receive attractive discounts and free consultations from the professional body, industry players and solutions providers.

Separately, MIHRM is working with MDEC to embark on its very own DX journey. Among the DX initiatives include simplifying existing work processes and membership management with innovative technologies and systems, reskilling internal talents with technological competencies, and developing platforms such as an HR-centric job portal and learning management system for its members.
