AirAsia yesterday launched its inaugural flight from Kuching to Langkawi. The new route will operate with four times weekly flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The flight AK 5093 departed from Kuching International Airport at 1255hrs and was sent off by Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports; Datuk Haji Abdul Wahab Bin Aziz, Chairman, Sarawak Tourism Board, and Spencer Lee, AirAsia Head of Commercial.
Upon arrival into Langkawi International Airport, the maiden flight was greeted by Nor Aznan Sulaiman, Manager, Tourism Promotion Division of Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) whereas Datuk Haji Azizan Noordin, Chief Executive Officer, Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) will welcome AirAsia’s first flight from Shenzhen to Langkawi on 10 August 2017.
