Kuala Lumpur, March 16 – Digistar Corporation Bhd announced that it will spend some RM40 million to expand its security services.
At the launch of Digistar’s new security service Panther Mobile, its group chief executive officer Datuk Wira Lee Wah Chong shared that the company will over the next five years set up 30 Panther Mobile service centres and concept stores nationwide. Plans are also afoot to expand the service to other South East Asian countries over the next three years.
Panther Mobile is the expansion of and rides on the company’s existing Panther911 security system launched two years ago. There are currently six Panther911 central monitoring stations (CMS) or command centres — located in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak — serving some 6,000 customers, protecting both homes and businesses.
Panther Mobile is Lee’s brainchild. To reach its goal of offering affordable on-the-go security solutions for people from all walks of life, Digistar had spent more than three years of research and development with its US-based technology provider for Panther911, React Mobile Ltd.
Panther Mobile launched its first “portable panic button”, a wearable safety device named “Sidekick” that pairs with a mobile smart application to integrate it to Panther911. The service provides 24/7 SOS response, filtering all false alarms/alerts and immediately escalates incidents to local authorities and the police.
The system also tracks the accurate global GPS location of the device and triggers immediate alert upon pressing the panic button during distress situation at anywhere and anytime.
Digistar and React Mobile at the event signed an exclusive partnership agreement on the expansion of the latter’s comprehensive yet affordable security solutions for home, business and personal safety in the South East Asian market.
Digistar is also collaborating with Celcom Axiata Bhd to connect the Panther911 on its platform.
