National research and development centre in ICT, MIMOS, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Ahmad Rizan Ibrahim as President and Chief Executive Officer effective 1 July 2017. He succeeds Datuk Abdul Wahab Abdullah who retired in June after leading MIMOS since July 2006.
Ahmad Rizan, 54, has more than 28 years of multi-disciplinary experience in management and strategic consulting, including more than 20 years in senior leadership, operational roles, sales, marketing, business development as well as channel and alliance development.
Prior to joining MIMOS, Ahmad Rizan was the Head of Government and GLC for SAS Institute, a US$3 billion privately-held USA-based company; where he was responsible for the overall management of sectoral clients, client relationships and customer interfaces.
MIMOS is Malaysia’s premier Applied Research and Development Centre in Information and Communications Technology, Industrial Electronics Technology and Nano-Semiconductor Technology. As a strategic agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), MIMOS contributes to raising Malaysia’s competitiveness by pioneering market creation for Malaysian technopreneurs through patentable technology platforms, products and solutions.
