Kuala Lumpur, March 29 –Prestariang, one of Malaysia’s leading Technology and Talent solutions providers, and Thales, global leader in high technology solutions for key infrastructures, signed an agreement for border security yesterday. The companies signed the agreement in the presence of the President of FranceFrançois Hollande, and the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed yesterday.
The agreement identifies Thales as the main technology partner of Prestariang in the implementation of the proposed ‘Sistem Kawalan Imigresen Nasional’ (“SKIN”), an integrated technology platform aimed at delivering the core applications and infrastructure of the national immigration and border control system.
SKIN will provide a comprehensive and integrated solution composed by five main modules: Passport, Visa, Border Control, Enforcement and Risk Assessment.
The objective of the project is to bring the country’s immigration and border control systems in line with national security objectives and to address both current and future operational demands.
SKIN is a 15-year concession which includes a three-year build and deployment phase followed by a 12-year maintenance and operation phase.
