Kuala Lumpur, March 31 –  Malaysian Business magazine, which is making a comeback at the newsstands beginning April after a hiatus of close to two years, was officially revealed by the Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Ahmad Maslan in Pullman Bangsar Hotel last Wednesday.

The magazine is being revived in print format, with an online edition, this time with a new team at its new home Amanie Media Sdn Bhd, a company under the Amanie Group of Companies.

Spearheading Malaysian Business into the future is the magazine’s new Editor-in-Chief Datuk Dr Mohd Daud Bakar, one of the leading global Shariah entrepreneurs and Amanie Group’s founder.

“We still believe in the print magazine despite what many have said that it is a sunset industry. We still believe that if you create something that is well done and artfully put together and you produce a good, high-quality magazine there is still a place for print. I think that they will transform and continue to evolve, as they have forever. I think that we will continue to have unique challenges, but also unique successes,” he says.

According to Dr Mohd Daud, with the new relaunch Malaysian Business magazine, Amanie Media will be addressing their readers with even more exciting content and showing them how technology can enrich their lives.

“The magazine has been in circulation for more than 40 years and with such huge archive of information at our disposal today, I believe that this title has a bright future.”

“In addition, we plan to also, among others, feed our articles with robotics application data to interpret economic data and how it can impact our readers,” he adds.

The now once a month Malaysian Business (previously it was published fortnightly) will also will provide readers with practical tips and informative articles for both corporations and small and medium enterprises.

The magazine’s last editor before it ceased publications temporarily in July 2015 was Mior Azhar who returns to head the day-to-day editorial operations as Editor.

Malaysian Business which was first published in 1972 carries the reputation of the oldest English business publication.

It was part of the Berita Publishing group’s stable of books, lifestyle and business titles under the magazines and publishing arm of the New Straits Times group.

The Berita Publishing group was subsequently sold off to Datuk A Kadir Jasin before ceasing publishing operations in 2015 due to the changing editorial and business climate.
