Kuala Lumpur, May 24 – Pos Malaysia Berhad (Pos Malaysia) yesterday announced revenue of RM2.1 billion for the period of twelve months, this financial year, an increase of 23% compared to its revenue of RM1.7 billion recorded in the corresponding period last year.
This increase was in particular due to the inclusion of the newly acquired logistics business coupled with strong growth in its courier business. Profit before tax increased 42% from RM92.5 million in the previous corresponding period to RM131.4 million.
Pos Malaysia’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said, “We are pleased that the disciplined execution of the various strategic initiatives of our transformation programme to become the e-Commerce fulfilment and logistics services provider of choice started off well with strong revenue growth and improved profitability; reaffirming that the Pos Malaysia Group’s aspirations have started to show positive results.”
Mohd Shukrie also added, “This commendable set of results have strengthened our resolve to forge ahead with our transformation programme so as to create value for our shareholders and to ensure the economic sustainability of the Pos Malaysia Group for the benefit of shareholders and stakeholders alike. This will be achieved through enhancing productivity using digital platforms, introducing innovative products and services that meet the needs of our customers and delivering superior customer experience”.
